Collins Hill proposed this massive project for us to undertake and we took up the challenge!
ALUMINUM FRAMED BOX
We started off by constructing the skeleton, made entirely of aluminum. Due to the large width of this box, 30ft wide by 6ft tall, it had to be built in three 10ft sections. Large sheets of aluminum panels were laid on our router where the square shapes were cut out, acrylic panels lay inset in these holes that list company logos and sponsor names. this is repeated across the entire display leaving spaces for 30 panels to be placed. The entire inside of the box is reinforced with aluminum bars that are riveted together. Finally, the outside of the box is wrapped in a black aluminum trim to give it a picture frame style look. Once everything is completed it is measured to ensure it fits within the space that it will sit. It is crucial that it be an exact size so that it fits snugly in between the pre-existing brickwork on site.
LED LIGHTING
Next up is the LED lighting that is mounted inside the box. The LED strips are measured and placed evenly throughout the display. These will be lit up at night during games for everyone to see!
PANEL SIGNS
The acrylic panel signs are then mounted to the sign now that it has been installed between the brick monument. An aluminum panel sign is installed above the box displaying the school football champions.
Lastly, the green lettering at the bottom of the monument is replaced with white lettering to create a more contrasting look.
This was a very artistic project we got to be a part of and are very thankful Collins Hill High School gave us the opportunity to bring this project to life!
